This week in vaccines
29th November 2015
This week was a busy one for countries in Africa. Uganda introduced HPV vaccine, and Mozambique launched inactivated polio vaccine to provide extra protection against polio. Sierra Leone also continued to rebuild its vaccination systems after Ebola, aiming to reach more than a million children with measles vaccines and other key interventions.
Meanwhile, @nprglobalhealth explained how space technology was helping keep vaccines cool in the hottest places on earth, and an innovative project from rural Ethiopia showed how dancing, singing and community involvement could transform immunisation rates.
Finally, as “flu season” looms, this week we were given old-school reminder about the importance of attitudes to vaccination by Goofus and Gallant. We know which one we’d rather be!
